Health Insurance

We are MNsure Certified.

Carrying health insurance is a vital aspect of your day-to-day life. It allows you to have peace of mind in knowing that you are covered in case you or an immediate family member becomes injured, sick, or diagnosed with a serious disease.

While a portion of individuals are covered under an employer-sponsored plan, and others qualify for Medicare, everyone else under age 65 should purchase qualifying health coverage for themselves. If you fall into that "everyone" else category, there is no need to panic… you do not need to navigate the overwhelming world of health insurance on your own. We are here to help!

Our licensed agents at Retka Insurance are MNsure Certified and here to assist you in navigating all your coverage options and qualifying plans. We can provide one-on-one enrollment help, assist with filling out paperwork, determine if you qualify for tax credits, and ultimately get you covered under a health insurance plan that will work with your needs and budget.

Contact us today to learn more and let us assist you during the open enrollment period.

Medicare: Getting to the Basics

What is Medicare?

Medicare is a federal health insurance program designated for individuals 65 and older, as well as for younger individuals who qualify due to a disability, End-Stage Renal Disease, or other special circumstance.

The 4 Parts of Medicare

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance)
Covers certain doctors' services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.

Medicare Part C (Private Insurance Option)
Part C plans are offered through private insurance companies and approved by Medicare. They are also known as Medicare Advantage or Medicare Health plans. Before enrolling in a Part C plan, you must first enroll in Original Medicare Parts A and B.

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage)
Part D adds prescription drug coverage to:

  • Original Medicare
  • Some Medicare Cost Plans
  • Some Medicare Private-Fee-for-Service Plans
  • Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans
